Public Safety
Public Safety is located in the International Food Court near Subway.
At Eastfield Mall, providing a safe and secure shopping environment is our top priority. To accomplish this goal, a twenty-one member team of Public Safety Officers has been put in place. Many of the Public Safety are also sworn City of Springfield Special Officers.
Each Public Safety Officer receives 32 hours of training in medical emergencies as well as incident deterrent and prevention. Specific areas of training include:
- Defibrillator training
- Communication Procedures
- Missing Children
- Crowd Control
- Accidents & Property Damage
- Crime & Incident Reporting
- Public Relations
- Information Collection
- Arrest Powers
In addition to foot patrol inside the Mall, Public Safety Officers also use mobile units and bicycles to patrol the exterior of the mall. Nearly 40 closed circuit state of the art TV cameras further enhance security by monitoring Mall activities around the clock, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for shoppers.
Working with the City of Springfield, Eastfield Mall is a substation for the area's neighborhood Community Police. Both Mall Public;ic Safety and the Community Police substation are located in the International Food Court.

- Locating where you parked
- An escort to your car
