How will the policy be enforced?
Beginning at 4:30pm, unsupervised children under the age of 16 will be asked to begin arranging for their rides. Security will be readily available to provide assistance to those youths that do not have access to a telephone. Any child 15 or under will be allowed to remain on Eastfield Mall property after 5:00pm as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 21 for the remainder of their visit.
How will Security identify that a visitor is 16 years old or older?
Young visitors should be prepared to provide valid photo identification with date of birth. Examples: driver’s license, school ID, state-issued ID, military ID, passport.
Where should I plan to pick up my child?
Please plan to pick up your child prior to 5:00pm at a pre-arranged meeting spot. After 5:00 pm, children will be asked to wait for their parent inside the Security Office, located in the Food Court.
What if the youth is unable to provide valid and appropriate identification?
The individual will be asked to arrange for transportation off property until they can return with appropriate ID.
Is the policy one child to one adult?
One adult may be responsible for more than one child with proper supervision and control.
Do I have to be with my child?
An adult must maintain visual contact with the child(ren) for whom they are responsible.
When the policy is in effect, will my child be permitted to patronize Showcase Cinemas, restaurants, or stores without supervision?
The policy applies to the common areas of the center: the inside corridors, food court, sidewalks, and parking lots. Unsupervised children may patronize establishments with outside entrances, subject to individual store policy. Under such circumstances, children are asked to proceed directly to and from the venue. Loitering on the sidewalks or in the parking lots is not permitted.
